Watson Hill Fire Pond Dredging & Hydrant Installation

This project consisted of dredging the fire pond on Watson Hill Rd and the installation of a new HDPE Dry Hydrant with a Fused HDPE Strainer. We also installed a HDPE recirculation pipe to allow for recirculation of the pond water during drafting operations.

Fire ponds are vital in rural areas so that fire fighters can have access to water when needed.  Fire ponds need to be dredged over time and remove built up sediment to ensure that the pond is at the correct depth and so that the dry hydrant can operate correctly.  This pond was in need of dredging and with that work being done, the Town had the dry hydrant updated.
